Meals are part of everyday life that provide comfort, routine and enjoyment. They also support choice at mealtimes and give residents the opportunity to sit together and share a meal in a familiar setting.

On a rainy day like today, a warm bowl of ramen was a welcome meal.

Residents at Avalon Village were encouraged to build their own bowls, choosing from a range of toppings to suit their preferences. Options included chashu (pork belly), ajitama (marinated soft-boiled egg), aonegi (green onion), moyashi (bean sprouts), shiitake mushrooms and edamame (soybeans).

The setup allowed everyone to choose what they wanted in their bowl, whether that meant trying a bit of everything or keeping it simple. Each bowl ended up a bit different depending on what people chose.

Behind every meal is our Food Services team, who put a great deal of care into what they prepare for residents. They focus on providing nutritious, enjoyable meals and take pride in every aspect of the dining experience, right down to the finishing touches that brought today's ramen lunch photo shoot together.
